JAMES ORANGE – Biography
James established James Orange Casting in 2007 and was Casting Director for Cameron Mackintosh from 2010 to 2014.
Current productions include: The King & I (London Palladium), Strictly Ballroom (Piccadilly), Sunshine on Leith (West Yorkshire Playhouse), Dr. Dolittle (UK Tour) and Walking with Dinosaurs (International Tour).
London credits include: An American in Paris (Dominion Theatre), On the Town, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (Regent’s Park), Miss Saigon (Prince Edward), Les Misérables (Queens), The Phantom of the Opera (Her Majesties), Betty Blue Eyes (Novello), La Cage Aux Folles (Playhouse), Imagine This (New London), Never Forget (Savoy & UK Tour), High School Musical (Hammersmith Apollo).
UK Theatre includes: The Addams Family, Shirley Valentine, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Love Me Tender, The Producers, Oklahoma!, Oliver!, Avenue Q, Barnum, Our House (UK Tours), A Damsel in Distress (Chichester Festival), Sweeney Todd (Welsh National Opera),
Film and Television projects include ensemble casting for the film versions of Mamma Mia!, Les Misérables and The Phantom of the Opera and acting as Casting Consultant on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, The Voice (ITV), Any Dream Will Do, I’d Do Anything and Over The Rainbow (BBC).
James is a member of the Casting Directors’ Guild of Great Britain and Ireland.
